Kids Against Drugs (K.A.D.) is a youth development service that is overseen by the San Marcos Public Housing Authority. It is an after-school program that serves approximately 50 kids of all ages. We provide a safe environment for learning and guidance for the children.

 

For 10 years K.A.D. has been Kappa Delta Chi’s local philanthropy. As individuals and as an organization dedicated to service, we volunteer at K.A.D as leaders, tutors, mentors and friends to the amazing children of the program.

 

We donate school supplies, host our annual Halloween Carnival, Easter Egg Hunt, participate in events like National Night Out and other activities throughout Spring Break. We have also created a logo for the program and raised over $800 for them in the past year.

 

We love the kids and being their positive influences. We form close bonds with them as we help them achieve success, aspire to do greater things, and grow as individuals. For the 2014-2015 academic year, our chapter completed nearly 1600 community service hours at K.A.D and we only hope to keep increasing that number in the future.
